EDMONTON: Explore Edmonton, Stormy Lake Consulting, and Moccasin Trails Inc., along with Indigenous partners and communities in the Edmonton region, are launching an Indigenous Tourism Development Strategy. The strategy is based on five interconnected elements—relationships, storytelling, empowerment and learning, shared leadership, and gathering—with the goal of building a thriving community of Indigenous tourism operators, entrepreneurs, and events.

OTTAWA: Ottawa Tourism, with the support of the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Festival Network, is launching one-time emergency funding support for marquee festivals that qualify and have a proven track record of bolstering tourism in the city. The objective is to fill a funding gap and ensure eligible Ottawa festival organizers don’t suffer financial losses that may put their festivals’ existence at risk. Qualifying marquee festivals can contact Ottawa Tourism for details.

TORONTO: A captivating collection of 14 metal dinosaur sculptures inspired by real fossils and built using recycled materials is now open at the Ontario Science Centre. Dinos in Motion uses levers, pulleys, and other controls to make the massive dinosaurs move, and visitors can learn about biomechanics, robotics, kinetics, and more through these majestic creations. This hands-on exhibition is on now until Jan. 7, 2024.

VANCOUVER: The Community Arts Council of Vancouver presents the seventh annual Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre Oct. 12-17. This year’s edition will feature five days of programming, new workshops co-presented by BC Culture Days, and a special film screening by the Outsider Arts Festival from Helsinki, Finland. Eventgoers can enjoy work from 40 visual artists, 13 performing artists, and three art groups from photography to painting, jazz to drag, and much more.

VICTORIA, B.C.: The Victoria International Wine Festival is happening now through Sept. 30 at Crystal Gardens, offering a "global tasting voyage" with over 400 wines from around the world. Expect wine dinners, seminars, grand tastings, and plenty of retail opportunities.
