MONTREAL: The Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), Canada's gold standard in specialized education for the tourism, hospitality, and food service sectors, unveiled the relaunch of its hotel after significant renovation work. Situated in the heart of Montréal and steps from Sherbrooke metro station, the Hôtel de l'ITHQ boasts 42 recently updated rooms that feature locally sourced Québec products and materials, all curated by Montréal-based architecture and design firm Ædifica.
Celebrating Montreal's wide-ranging culinary scene and featuring various reasonably priced table d'hôte options, MTLà TABLE invites residents and visitors alike to dine in style at more than 135 local restaurants Nov. 3-19. The event will feature an array of new participating eateries, along with more established venues, located in some of the city's liveliest neighborhoods. OTTAWA: Ottawa will host the prestigious 11th annual International Indigenous Tourism Conference on unceded Algonquin Anishinaabeg Territory. The event, scheduled to take place Feb. 25-28, 2024, is being organized by the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada. The conference will host over 1,000 delegates over four days at Ottawa’s Shaw Center.
TORONTO: Ripley's Aquarium of Canada announced its 10th birthday celebration with an ambitious endeavor: an attempt to break the Guinness World Record title for the longest underwater livestream. The aquarium's team will embark on a six-hour livestream, broadcasting the mesmerizing world beneath the waves in real time on the aquarium's YouTube channel.
In January 2024, Porter Airlines will launch its first two western U.S. destinations in California with daily round-trip service connecting Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). The new routes will be operated by the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, featuring a 132-seat, all-economy, two-by-two configuration.
