What I do: I specialize in helping organizations elevate their brand, amplify their corporate message and transform their struggling events into extraordinary must-attend experiences.
Impressive stats: Hortonworks’ flagship event, Hadoop Summit, historically ran at a loss of anywhere between $300,000 to $500,000. When appointed to the director of global events, I made the event profitable to the sum of $424,000 in less than a year.
What I am working on now: In 2019, I witnessed an alarming number of clients and event organizers struggling to drive attendance to their events. When I jumped in to help, I noticed many of them were making the same simple mistakes over and over again. In response to this ongoing theme, I am developing an e-course entitled “The Ultimate Event Marketing Guide.”
I do outside of work: In 2019, I launched my event management- and marketing-focused blog, Do You Have The Mel-Factor?, and accompanying podcast, “The Mel-Factor.”
