What I do: “I manage and execute the overall meeting logistics for APhA’s Annual Meeting & Exposition for 5,800 people, as well as the Joint Federal Pharmacy Seminar.”
What I really do: “I am called ‘The Dream Maker.’ If you ask, I will make it happen.”
How she got here: Meehan fell in love with planning while working with attendees as a meetings registrar for American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers. Learning the attendee perspective made her want to do more as a planner, so she moved up to a logistics role assisting with larger meetings, which led her to APhA.
Greatest career accomplishments: Meehan executed a major citywide convention while bringing registration in-house and launching a new website and logistics module—all in one year.
Next-level numbers: For the annual APhA2015 and 2016 conferences, Meehan increased registration numbers and registration revenue each year and netted a surplus of more than $70,000 in 2015.
Currently working on: “I also assist with Potomac View Terrace, our event space at APhA, working with clients on the day of their events.”
