What she does: Wynn handles the SMERF market, as well as the association and government segments, for the hotel. The groups she’s booked include Veterans of Foreign Wars, USDA and Alabama Air National Guard.
How I got here: “I got a degree in restaurant, hotel and meetings management with a concentration in meetings and events from The University of Alabama. I started off as a sales assistant at a local hotel, and within 18 months moved into a sales manager position.”
Next-gen mentoring: Wynn volunteers at The University of Alabama, mentoring current students in the hospitality management program and helping them prepare for what happens after graduation.
Superstar stats: “In nine months, I increased the amount of reunions—military, etc.—we have on the books by 50 percent year over year.”
Up next: “I am really excited about diving into the diversity/association market and learning more about their needs and how we can get them to Birmingham.”
