What I do: I bring Maritz’s services to companies in the Southern California region. I strive to be a resource for industry professionals in the region, introduce fresh ideas and help make their lives a little easier.
How I got here: I began my journey in the hospitality industry as a travel director for Maritz, where I was repeatedly asked to work programs for new clients to ensure smooth and successful event operation as our companies learned to work together. This led to a natural transition into business development and introducing more companies to Maritz.
My greatest career accomplishment: I would say I am most proud of the trust I have earned from my company. Being selected to lead the travel staff for great clients and now heading up business development for one of the best and toughest regions in the country is truly an honor.
Impressive stats: I once negotiated a 60 percent cost savings on an off-site function. The owner was trying to upsell for things that were consumed but not contracted. Because I was at the function, I was able to negotiate a deal where the client saved money on the event and the owner was able to turn a profit.
A specific improvement I’ve made: I sat on a steering committee to determine what technology our on-site staff should use. I am still working toward deploying tablets for all staff. This would allow for seamless communication between airport staff, desk staff, meeting staff, etc., allowing for greater preparedness when guests show up on-site.
What I’m working on: I am most excited to bring our new health care technology solution to our clients and prospects. It is a powerful tool that I believe will save planners in the health care field immense time.
What I do outside of work: You will most likely find me playing or watching sports. Almost every week I’m out on the beach playing football with friends. I am also currently working toward SITE membership and I hope to sit on the Young Leaders Committee when I become a member.
