Christina Campbell, 33, works in Woodstock, Georgia, as global account executive at ConferenceDirect. As a 2017 40 Under 40 honoree, Campbell discusses her passion for the events industry.
What I do: I utilize the tools available to me at ConferenceDirect to help companies and organizations source the best venue for their meeting or event. Once a hotel/venue has been selected, I work to ensure the most favorable terms are contracted on their behalf. There is much more to site selection and contract negotiations than what meets the eye, and with contracting verbiage trickier and more confusing than ever, I focus on keeping it as organized and simple as possible.
How I got here: I began my career in the hospitality industry as a sales coordinator straight out of college (Texas A&M). Over the next 10 years I took on various roles in sales, eventually accepting a position as associate director of sales at Sheraton Atlanta Hotel. Looking for a new challenge and direction, I joined the ConferenceDirect Team in December 2015.
Impressive stats: In 2016 I assisted my clients in contracting more than 50 meetings and helped them save over $500,000.
What I do outside of work: I have two daughters, ages 1 and 2, so much of my free time is spent keeping them entertained. We love to spend time outside, and in 2017 we have a family goal to experience 10 new hiking trails as a family. When my husband and I have free time we enjoy traveling, cooking and drinking wine.
