How I got here: I began my Hospitality Career in Oklahoma City at the Waterford Marriott. I started as the assistant HR director. After two years, I was asked to fill in as an interim housekeeping manager. I spent five years in that position, then transitioned to the sales department, where I spent numerous years I moved to Fort Worth with Marriot, for a couple of years, until I found my destiny at Visit Fort Worth in April 2004.
Greatest career accomplishment: I booked the largest group (room nights) in the history of Fort Worth CVB with the Beta Club in 2020, which has 15,000 total room nights.
Impressive stats: I decreased turnover by 60% in the largest department in the hotel (housekeeping) and maintained the decrease for three years before moving into hotel sales!
Specific improvement I’ve made: I have been very instrumental in the implementation of our new multicultural and inclusive plan for Fort Worth.
What I do outside of work: I am a member of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club and National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals. I enjoy quality time with my husband and with my 16-year-old granddaughter.
