Danny Meyer's latest has finally opened. Located in the former space of 27 Standard, so-called "urban barbecue" restaurant Blue Smoke has a casual roadhouse appeal with red vinyl booth seats and bar tables towards the front. In the back, the dining room skews a little more toward Eleven Madison Park (another Meyer restaurant), with high ceilings and tall flower arrangements. Large splayed light fixtures that resemble giant asterisks illuminate the room's brick walls and exposed steel piping. A small, 40-seat balcony area--perfect for a small cocktail party--overlooks the bar. 27 Standard's jazz club, Jazz Standard, remains downstairs, and can seat 140 or hold 170 for cocktails. --Suzanne Ito
