Moving north from Coconut Grove to Fort Lauderdale, Tara's Steak & Lobster House is owner Tara Trevethan's second restaurant in Florida (the first is in Marco Island). With a capacity for as many as 200 guests, the restaurant can host a variety of corporate or social functions. Although the restaurant is closed to the public during the day, private luncheon events can be accommodated. A private dining room for 40 people can be closed off and has a microphone system and podium-style screen projector for presentations. The main dining area is separated by a wine wall (the wine list boasts more than 200 labels). A lounge with two flatscreen TVs and a granite-topped bar accommodates 35 patrons. Additional tables in the lounge host another 40 people, and there's a small stage for live entertainment. The restaurant features a smoker's lounge for 50 guests enclosed by glass doors off the main dining room. The staff can book entertainment for special events. —Vanessa Goyanes
