Last week, Enology opened its doors in Cleveland Park in the former site of the Zebra Lounge. From the same owners as Veritas and Capitol Lounge, the wine bar, appropriately named after the study of winemaking, boasts a clean look and an all-American menu.
Enology’s 62-seat dining room pairs Pop Art-style paintings with espresso-stained beechwood tables, beige leather seating, and Brazilian walnut floors. Handblown glass pendants hang atop a white marble, 20-seat bar, while the outdoor patio offers street-side dining for 16. The 2,000-square-foot space is available for partial or full buyout, and can fit as many as 100 for a reception. The list of 78 wines by the glass and 29 flights includes nearby wineries Deep Creek and White Hall. The menu also offers a wide selection of domestic cheeses such as Dancing Ewe Prima Caciotta from New York and Firefly Bella Vita from Maryland.
