As Canada’s largest city and financial centre, Toronto hosts some of the country’s most prominent events, from the Toronto International Film Festival to the Giller Prize Gala. A wide range of gatherings appeal to Toronto’s many industries, from marketing to hospitality. Festivals like Luminato, Caribbean Carnival, and the Canadian National Exhibition draw more than a million people each year, and glittering fund-raisers from the Bell Event to Canfar’s Bloor Street Entertains attract the city’s socialites. This year's list looks at the events that make the city buzz on an annual basis.

To choose and rank the annual events on this list, we look at several factors, including economic impact, buzz, innovation, and an event's prominence within the communities it intends to serve.
