CHICAGO: The Women’s Board of Lincoln Park Zoo will host the annual Zoo Ball on July 12. The black-tie event, themed “A Feathered Affair,” will honor the Chilean flamingo. 

LOS ANGELES: Lupus L.A.’s 15th annual Orange Ball will take place May 4 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The event will honor Toni Braxton with the Loop Award.

Vaughn Pierre Davis is the new general manager for the two-year-old Dream Hollywood hotel. He most recently served as manager of 50 Bowery in New York.

NEW YORK: The D.K.M.S. Gala will take place May 1 at Cipriani Wall Street. D.K.M.S. is a nonprofit fighting blood cancer and blood disorders.

The 15th annual Joy of Sake will take place June 21 at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The event will offer tastings of more than 500 sakes and dishes from 18 restaurants.

The Lookup, an indoor-outdoor rooftop venue at the Kixby Hotel, will open May 15. The 2,200-square-foot space will seat 65 outside and 50 inside. The venue is helmed by Chris Barish and Julie Mulligan, founders of Black Tap Craft Beer & Burgers.

Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina has appointed Kevin Lind director of food and beverage. The venue will open in Montauk in May.

SAN FRANCISCO: SFMade’s Manufacturing the Dream benefit will take place June 20 at the San Francisco Armory. The event will celebrate the 10th anniversary of SFMade with demonstrations by local makers, interactive experiences by local manufacturers, and food and drinks from local vendors.

TORONTO: Save Your Skin Foundation’s second annual Giving Hope Gala and Auction will take place May 1 at St. James Cathedral Centre. The event kicks off Melanoma Month in Toronto.
