LOS ANGELES: The Hollywood Reporter: “The Art Directors Guild (IATSE Local 800) will hold its 24th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards on Saturday, February 1, roughly one week before the Academy Awards, which have been moved up several weeks to February 9.”

Deborah Dugan is the next president and C.E.O. of the Recording Academy, effective August 1. The first woman appointed to the role, Dugan most recently served as C.E.O. of AIDS nonprofit (RED), and has also held executive positions at Disney Publishing Worldwide and EMI Records Group/Angel Records.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Fort Lauderdale Home Design and Remodeling Show will take place May 24-27 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center. TV personality Carson Kressley will headline the show with a “TV Makeover Magic” event.

The 23rd annual American Black Film Festival will take place June 12-16. Along with screenings, the event will have panels featuring Spike Lee, Peter Ramsey, Will Packer, Anthony Anderson, Iyanla Vanzant, and more.

MONTREAL: Marcus, chef Marcus Samuelsson’s first restaurant in Canada, has opened at Four Seasons Montreal. The restaurant serves dishes with local seafood and ingredients from the city’s markets and surrounding forests.

NEW YORK: Vibrant Mental Health’s 27th annual gala, “Share.Connect.Heal,” will take place May 20 at Cipriani 25 Broadway. Dr. Jennifer Ashton will host the event, which will have a performance by Gloria Reuben.

The season two premiere of Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It Netflix series will take place May 28 at Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn.

Snug Harbor’s 36th annual Neptune Ball will take place June 7 at Cottage Row.

ORLANDO/CENTRAL FLORIDA: The Dalí Museum will debut a new permanent installation, “Dalí Lives,” on Saturday at its St. Petersburg home. The artificial intelligence experience presents a life-size version of the artist compiled from archival footage and interviews, letters, and quotations to present new content about his work and ideas and "interact" with guests. The image is updated to appear to be in the present day through details like Dalí holding the current day's newspaper and taking a selfie with guests that they can access digitally. Goodby Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco worked with the museum on the project.

PHOENIX/SCOTTSDALE: Real estate property development and hospitality company H.C.W. has announced the groundbreaking of Tru by Hilton and Springhill Suites by Marriott, which will open side by side on the corner of Interstate 10 and North Bullard Avenue in Goodyear.

SYDNEY: I.M.G. has announced a sustainability plan for event and venue operations during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition, both of which take place May 12-18 at Carriageworks.
