INDUSTRY NEWS: The International Live Events Association (ILEA) and Meeting Professionals International (M.P.I.) have partnered to launch a new online education platform for ILEA members that offers more than 60 curated sessions based on the ILEA core curriculum.

ATLANTA: Sugar Factory American Brasserie will open in Midtown in September. The two-story, 8,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 200 guests in a main dining room and 60 in an outdoor area.

CHICAGO: The 39th annual Columbian Ball will take place October 5 at the Museum of Science and Industry. 

Avli Restaurant Group will open Avli River North in September. The Greek concept will have two floors of dining space and an outdoor patio. 

LOS ANGELES: The Television Academy announced “Brilliance in Motion” as the theme of the Emmy Awards after-party events. Creative Arts Governors Ball will take place September 14 and 15, and the Primetime Emmy Awards Governors Ball will take place September 22 directly after the telecast. The three events will be held at the L.A. Live Event Deck. 

Deadline: “Fresh off the buzzy premiere of BH90210, the Peach Pit pop-up restaurant inspired by the classic Beverly Hills 90210 will keep its doors open due to high demand. Originally developed by Fox and Pop Sugar to promote the highly-anticipated revival, the Peach Pit pop-up in Los Angeles sold out its two-day weekend run in less than an hour. On the heels the popular demand and the debut of the show, CBS Consumer Products teamed with the team behind the Saved by the Max and Good Burger to extend the run of the pop-up which will reopen its doors on August 16 and they will remain open through the end of September.”

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Le Jardinier and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon will open August 16 and August 28, respectively, in Paradise Plaza. Le Jardinier, a vegetable-driven restaurant, is helmed by culinary director Alain Verzeroli and will seat 108 guests. French concept L’Atelier is helmed by culinary Christophe Bellanca and will seat 54 guests. Both restaurants are owned and operated by New York-based Invest Hospitality. 

The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club has named Shawn Shortall spa director. 

NEW YORK: The 60th annual Clio Awards will take place September 25 at the Manhattan Center. Andy Cohen will host the ceremony.

TORONTO: The 16th annual Cashmere Fashion Show will take place September 25 at the Globe and Mail Centre. Themed “Legends of Fashion,” the event will see models wearing outfits created with Cashmere Bathroom Tissue. The event raises money for breast cancer research.
