People/Events/Accounts: News about Rethink Breast Cancer's Boobyball, Lights All Night Festival, Hudson River Park Gala, and More

COAST TO COAST: Boobyball, Rethink Breast Cancer’s annual fund-raiser, will take place in Toronto on October 4, Calgary on October 18, Ottawa on October 25, and Vancouver on October 26. This year’s theme is “Into The Ocean.”

AUSTIN: Hyatt Regency Austin has named Jeff Donahoe general manager.

DALLAS: The 10th annual Lights All Night music festival will take place December 27-28 at Dallas Market Hall. E.D.M. artists including Skrillex and Bassnectar will perform. 

InterContinental Hotels Group will open a hotel in Cityplace Tower in 2022. Occupying eight floors of the building, the hotel will have 223 rooms and a restaurant, bar, and lounge. 

LOS ANGELES: FounderMade’s Discovery Show will take place October 16 at Barker Hangar. 

The International Myeloma Foundation will hold its 13th annual Comedy Celebration on October 17 at the Beverly Hilton. Ray Romano will host the event, which benefits the Peter Boyle Research Fund.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Le Petit Bistro, a French restaurant managed by Marilyn and Emmanuel Arrebot, will have its grand opening at the Lincoln Eatery on August 24. 

NEW YORK: Pop-Up Magazine’s Escape Issue will come to Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall on October 10. The live magazine event will feature performances by comedians Jo Firestone and Jordan Carlos, poet Sarah Kay, and musician Left at London. 

The Hudson River Park Gala will take place October 17 at Cipriani South Street. Produced by Josh Wood Productions, the event will honor Michael R. Bloomberg and David Chang. 

New York magazine’s 21st annual New York Taste will take place October 21 at the Waterfront New York. The event, which benefits City Harvest, will feature more than 40 local chefs, including Matthew and Emily Hyland of Emmy Squared, Melissa Weller of High Street on Hudson, and Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald of Levain Bakery.

WASHINGTON: Broccoli City, Live Nation Urban, and the James Beard Foundation will hold the inaugural Food & Grooves on October 26 at Union Market. The event will feature a live recording of the Questlove Supreme podcast and music by Teedra Moses, Tank and the Bangas, Black Alley Band, and more.
