INDUSTRY NEWS: GES Events has partnered with Gravel Experiential, an experiential marketing and event production agency, in the areas of client engagement, event strategy, and production.

LOS ANGELES: Mindy Kaling will host the 22nd Costume Designers Guild Awards on January 28 at the Beverly Hilton. The award show is executive produced by JumpLine and sponsored by Westfield Century City.

Organizers of the BeachLife Festival have partnered with the Count on Me Foundation to host a skating fund-raiser and toy drive for the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Clubs, Friendship Foundation, and RBUSD’s Project Unified. The event takes place on December 1 at the Toyota Sports Center; unwrapped toy donations can be dropped off at Saint Rocke through November 30.

LOUISVILLE: Kate Burger has been promoted to director of convention sales at Louisville Tourism; she previously was senior sales manager. Also recently promoted was Anna Lundy to event manager, a new position at the organization. She previously served as sales coordinator but that role has been filled by Courtney Pickett, who joined Louisville Tourism last year. Additionally, Taylor Lockard was promoted to destination services manager from registrations services manager.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The new Rubell Museum, which opens December 4, will also be home to the Spanish restaurant Leku, whose ownership group includes Alejandro Muguerza of Le Basque Catering in Miami, Andreas Schreiner of Schreiner Hospitality, Terry Zarikian of the New York and South Beach Wine & Food Festivals, and executive chef Mikel Goikolea.

NEW YORK: Netflix is taking over Little Italy this weekend in a promotion for The Irishman, the company’s Martin Scorcese-directed and -produced film. On November 22 and November 23, the streaming platform is putting up 1975-era signs and cars around the area and funding free food and drink promotions at neighborhood restaurants.

A first of its kind makeup museum is slated to open in May. The museum’s co-founder and executive director is Doreen Bloch, founder and C.E.O. of Poshly.
