CHICAGO: La Rabida Children’s Hospital held its 33rd annual gala on November 21 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. The event attracted nearly 500 attendees and raised more than $765,000 for the organization.

LOS ANGELES: The Westfield Century City will host its first-ever "magical winter village" on December 2. Dubbed the Market at Westfield, the daylong event will feature cobblestone streets, pine trees, and twinkling garland, plus entertainment and pop-ups from brands such as Lord Jones, Dandelion Chocolate, Von Holzhausen, and Ghost Democracy.

The 2020 BeachLife Festival has announced its first round of performers, which include Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Lukas Nelson & Promises of the Real, and G. Love & Special Sauce. Also new will be a stage curated by Pennywise frontman Jim Linberg. The festival takes place May 1-3 in Redondo Beach.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: An immersive experience for candy lovers opened Tuesday at the Aventura Mall. The “interactive candy wonderland” features more than a dozen environments and elements, such as giant swings, colorful confetti, and a massive foam marshmallow pit. 

NASHVILLE: Gearing up for the opening of the Graduate Nashville hotel later this year, hospitality duo Marc Rose and Med Abrous have revealed that the first food and beverage spot will be an animatronic karaoke bar called Cross-Eyed Critters Watering Hole, according to Eater.com. The property also will feature a "prominently pink" rooftop restaurant and bar, as well as a lobby-level all-day cafe. 

NEW YORK: Brookfield Place’s holiday show and light installation, Light up Luminaries, will debut December 3. Visitors can send a touch-activated wish to a canopy of lanterns, and Brookfield Place will donate $1 for every wish made—up to $25,000—during the holiday season to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. 

The ILEA New York Metro Chapter will host a panel discussion on December 3 entitled, “Event Security, Who’s in Charge and How Much is Enough?” The event will take place at Lamia’s Fish Market.
