MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Nativo Kitchen & Bar debuted in downtown Brickell on January 6. The vibrant new restaurant is helmed by executive chef and rising culinary star Pablo Lamon. The chef competed in Bravo’s Top Chef series and was a San Pellegrino Young Chef Competition finalist. 

NEW YORK: Clarion UX, producer of the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York, on Monday announced the addition of the international cake decorating and gelato competitions to the event. Taking place March 8 to 10, 2020 at the Javits Center, finalists will compete for the titles of 2020 Cake Designer of the Year and 2020 Gelato Maker of the Year. The competitions are hosted by David Rosen Bakery Supply and MEC3.

ST. LOUIS: Explore St. Louis has hired Barry Draper as the director of partnership. He previously served as partnership manager for the DuPage County Convention & Visitors Bureau. 

WASHINGTON: Las Vegas will come to the nation’s capital on February 22 with the Chance for Life event. The fund-raiser for children’s cancer research will feature creations from innovative and celebrity chefs, guest appearances, a Vegas theme after-party, and one of the nation’s largest amateur poker tournaments. Over 700 players come from all over the country to compete for a $10,000 seat at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
