LOS ANGELES: The Los Angeles Ballet Gala will take place on February 28 at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica. This year’s honorees are Kenny Ortega, Gelila Assefa Puck, and Anastasia Soare; Nigel Lythgoe will host.

NEW YORK: Opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival, taking place April 15-26, will feature Jimmy Carter Rock & Roll President, a documentary showing how the former president used music to get elected. The screening, which is set to take place at the Beacon Theater, will be followed by live performances from Willie Nelson, Paul Shaffer, and others.

Colleen Sherin has been named the new president of Coterie, according to Fashion Week Daily. Sherin comes into the job with over 15 years of experience at Saks Fifth Avenue. Most recently, she was vice president of wholesale at Alexander McQueen.

ORLANDO: Megacon Orlando, the Southeast’s largest fan convention, is returning to the Orange County Convention Center April 16-19.

SAN DIEGO: GDX Studios, an experiential marketing studio, has brought on Cathy Garcia as West Coast director, business development. She brings over 25 years of experience to the position, including with CG Activation, which Garcia founded. 

SAN FRANCISCO: The San Francisco Marriott Marquis on Monday unveiled an extensive transformation, designed in part to connect guests to the city’s thought leaders. To that end, changes made include the addition of smart televisions to the property’s 15,000 rooms, making streaming services and curated TED Talks available to guests.
