Industry News: AmericasMart Atlanta Offers Online Trade Show, New York's Watson Adventures Launches Online Scavenger Hunts, the Chicago Performing Arts Virtual Retreat, and More

ATLANTA: Wholesale trade center AmericasMart Atlanta is taking its trade shows online, offering gift, home, and apparel suppliers virtual market tools at no charge through the end of the year via B-to-B digital platform ShopZio.

CHICAGO: On April 8 at 10:30 a.m., local performing arts centers such as Chicago Dancemakers Forum and Pivot Arts will come together to host the Chicago Performing Arts Virtual Retreat, featuring a town hall-style meeting, as well as a discussion on how artists are continuing to make work, reshape their practices, and keep moving. 

LOS ANGELES: The One Up Group has launched a "virtual playbook," which offers tools and resources for pivoting to virtual events.

NEW YORK: Relief Opportunities for All Restaurants (ROAR) and Robin Hood have announced a partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation to launch a New York City Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. The fund grants will be awarded to New York City’s service workers facing unprecedented economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Tribeca Film Festival will be offering select programming from this year's event online from April 15 to 26, when the main festival was originally scheduled to take place. Programming will include Tribeca Immersive’s Cinema360, N.O.W. Creators Market (an industry-only online market where storytellers will be able to pitch new projects to industry executives), and more.

Scavenger hunt business Watson Adventures has launched its Virtual Games, transitioning three of its popular live games to a virtual experience for corporate team building and educational and family applications. The three games will be hosted by Watson Adventures’ live hunt hosts, who will lead 60-minute adventures using video conferencing technology to connect teams, all in separate locations, as well as a computer, smartphone, or tablet to navigate the live adventure. Corporate rates begin at $750; nonprofit and educational rates begin at $700.
