CANADA: A Pasta-Themed Event, Televised Holiday Parade, Halloween Walkthrough Experience, and More

ALBERTA: The 45th annual Banff Centre Mountain Film & Book Festival will be hosted by the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. The festival will run Oct. 31 to Nov. 8, featuring a lineup of over 75 films, authors, and guest speakers who will showcase their remote journeys, achievements, and more. Guests will also be able to shop in a virtual marketplace and beer tent.

CALGARY: For a second year, Pasta La Feastaan annual citywide pasta-theme eventhas returned to Calgary. Eleven of the city’s top restaurants teamed up to celebrate National Pasta Month while raising funds to support The Alex Community Food Centre. Each participating eatery has created a unique pasta dish that will be featured on their menu the entire month of October. 

Kayben Farms’ Sunshine Adventure Park is permanently closing after Halloween due to rising costs and other recent circumstances. The park is a popular outdoor attraction that first opened in 2009 hosting school field trips, seasonal festivals, birthday parties, and visits from the general public. 

TORONTO: Toronto’s annual Santa Claus Parade, for the first time in over a century, will not have a crowd lining the parade route. In light of the pandemic, the parade will be televised as part of a two-hour special on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. 

VANCOUVER: Shattered at The Beaumont: A Wicked Walkthrough Experience is a socially distanced, Halloween-theme maze taking place Oct. 8-31. The Beaumont has partnered with Go2 Productions, Innovation Lighting, and many other Vancouver-based artists to create an installation over 10,000 square feet featuring illusions and stage tricks to bring out digital ghosts, goblins, and other creatures of the night. Guests must reserve entry times.
