US: The 2020 Carousel of Hope Ball, Hudson River Park's UnGala, a New Hotel Focused on Female Empowerment

NATIONAL: More than 3,000 rental stores across the United States have incorporated the American Rental Association's "Clean. Safe. Essential." program into their operations. Event rental companies that have completed the COVID-19-focused training program include Bright Event Rentals, Marquee Event Rentals, Arena Americas, and more. 

FAIRFAX, VA: The Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA) has partnered with the not-for-profit organization Digital Signage Federation (DSF) to bring digital signage education to AVIXA’s latest trade shows and events. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between the event and digital signage communities. More details about events and trade shows will be released in the coming weeks.

LOS ANGELES: The 2020 Carousel of Hope Ball—a biennial event dedicated to raising funds for clinical care and diabetes research—partnered with People on Oct. 10. Performances and special appearances were livestreamed exclusively on People’s website, social media platforms, and YouTube channel. The event has been a Hollywood staple since 1978, uniting entertainment, sports, and business industry leaders to support the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes and the Children Diabetes Foundation.

NEW YORK: Hudson River Park is hosting its UnGala event virtually on Oct. 21 in efforts to keep the four-mile urban oasis green and growing. The evening will feature special appearances by Michael Bloomberg, Julianna Moore, Martha Stewart, and more.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLA: The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is hosting its 16th annual season of Culture & Cocktails. The event kicks off on Nov. 9 with a virtual conversation themed “Cool People Doing Neat Stuff!” A series of virtual discussions will be streamed on YouTube and free for attendees, with all proceeds going to support the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County in order to engage in and grow the arts.

WASHINGTON, DC: Hotel Zena opened on D.C.'s 14th Street on Oct. 8. The property is dedicated to female empowerment, with over 60 pieces of art including a portrait of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg made from 20,000 hand-painted tampons, plus a massive installation made from 12,000 protest buttons from women's-focused marches. The 191-room hotel has over 3,500 square feet of event space.
