US: The Critics Choice Super Awards, Kalahari Round Rock, an 'Empty Wedding,' and More

NATIONAL: The Critics Choice Association is debuting the Critics Choice Super Awards, an event honoring popular television and movie genres including superhero, science fiction/fantasy, horror, action, and animation. The virtual event will air on The CW Network Jan. 10, 2021. 

BOSTON: On Oct. 15, the Massachusetts Live Events Coalition will host an "empty wedding" to draw attention to the need for government support in the live event industry. The event will be hosted at Lombardo's in Randolph and will feature wedding planners, DJs, photographers, florists, and other struggling event-related businesses. 

LOS ANGELES: BeCore Experiential Marketing has hired Kellee Lambeth as senior vice president of finance. Lambeth previously served at SVP chief financial officer at New York-based marketing and advertising firm Wunderman Thompson.

NEW YORK: The Cauldron Magical Pub & Experience will reopen its indoor dining with a socially-distanced Halloween experience. The space will host Jack-o-lantern carving every Saturday and Sunday throughout the month, with tickets starting at $15 a person, and the Supper & Spells Experience will take place Oct. 30-31, with tickets starting at $54.99 a person. Attendees must book tickets in advance through The Cauldron Magical Pub & Experience website.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: Kalahari Resorts & Conventions will open its new Round Rock location Nov. 12. The massive property will feature 4,000 hotel rooms, event capacities up to 5,000 people, and what it's billing as the nation's largest indoor waterpark.
