EDMONTON: A hockey game in Alberta broke the world record for the world’s longest hockey game at 6 a.m. on Feb. 15 after lasting over 252 hours. Due to the pandemic, the game took place in an NHL-style bubble with an isolated outdoor rink on a rural property. The two teams scored over 5,000 goals and raised $1.8 million for cancer research at the University of Alberta.

SAINT-GABRIEL-DE-VALCARTIER, QUEBEC: While travel restrictions and closed borders remain, Quebec’s Hôtel de Glace is offering a 3D experience that allows travelers to virtually explore the property’s 15 themed rooms and suites from the safety of their homes. The tour is also compatible with virtual-reality devices for viewers who want a more immersive viewing experience. Hôtel de Glace is North America’s only hotel made entirely out of snow and ice. The current structure is made from 40,000 tons of snow and features ice carvings of mountainscapes, a dragon sculpture with eyes that light up and more.

TORONTO: Nextech AR’s Virtual Experience Platform is hosting the 2021 Ontario Dental Association's annual spring meeting May 6-8. The event will feature keynote speakers, scalable video streaming, chat functions and augmented reality experiences. An interactive exhibit floor for sponsors will bring live event-like elements to the virtual space, which will feature 150 exhibitors from a range of dental manufacturers, distributors and retailers.

VANCOUVER: The Tech Talent Conference is hosting Tech Talent North from May 12-13 for leaders in the Canadian tech industry to learn and network.
