NATIONAL: Anthony "Tony" Capuano is the new CEO of Marriott International, following the unexpected death of president and CEO Arne Sorenson on Feb. 15. Capuano—who joined the company in 1995 and was formerly the group president of global development, design and operations services—most recently oversaw Marriott’s Commitment to Clean initiative. The board of directors also announced that Stephanie Linnartz has been appointed president, effective immediately.

SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA: The inaugural edition of Run Surrey Run, a 5K/10K walk/run from the Balsar Community Foundation, will take place virtually from June 1-15. Registration is $25 per participant and is limited to 2,000 total runners this year.
TORONTO: OverActive Media has announced plans for a new $500 million, 7,000-seat Esports stadium, slated to open in 2025. The stadium will be located in Toronto's Exhibition Place, already home to the 20,000-seat BMO Field; OverActive Media hopes the venue will host large-scale events like concerts, conventions and award shows in addition to Esports competitions.
