CANADA: A New Halifax Hotel, SiriusXM Canada’s Latest Podcast, Canada’s Largest Restaurant Festival and More

HALIFAX: Luxury hotel Muir is slated to open in the Queen’s Marque District this summer. The 109-room waterfront property is part of Marriott International’s Autograph Hotel Collection and will feature decor inspired by the spirit and culture of Nova Scotia.

OTTAWA: Illumisoft Lighting has partnered with Canadian building-technology contractor Modern Niagara to install SaniLume—a germicidal ultraviolet (GUV) disinfecting device—in Ottawa-based fitness facility AMPED Sports Lab & Ice Complex. The GUV technology protects staff and customers from airborne pathogens. In the long term, the team hopes to work with the event industry, schools, large offices and more.

TORONTO: SiriusXM Canada has announced a new show and podcast titled “Good Talk,” airing weekly starting Feb. 25, that discusses the most important and relevant topics and issues facing Canada today. The program will be available immediately after it airs on SiriusXM’s app.

VANCOUVER: Don Marcellus is the new director of facilities management for the Vancouver Convention Center. Most recently, he worked at BC Ferries overseeing and directing the efforts of the Tsawwassen Terminal Maintenance group.

Dine Out Vancouver, billed as Canada’s largest restaurant festival, is taking place now through March 7. The festival features meals from over 300 restaurants, plus wineries and breweries, that offer cuisines from around the world. Meal prices range from $15 to $54, and all establishments are following safety protocols with capacity limitations and outdoor dining.
