NATIONAL: Newcomers Canada is hosting a virtual expo in order to connect Canadians with resources to help them in education, business and general employment. The Routes Expo will take place virtually in Eastern Canada on April 7 and in Western Canada on April 8, and is geared towards new residents of Canada.
PopSugar is hosting Girl Talk, a one-hour event airing on TLC and Discovery+ tonight at 9 p.m. ET. Hosted by Sofia Wylie, the special features a keynote conversation from former First Lady Michelle Obama and girls from Girls Opportunity Alliance, moderated by Lilly Singh. CALGARY: Cobb’s Adventure Park is hosting an adults-only night this May to celebrate the halfway-to-Halloween marker. The event, titled May-hem, will include three haunted houses, a maze, boozy beverages and other themed activities. This event takes place one week before Cobb's officially reopens May 22 after COVID-19-related closures.
TORONTO: On March 21, the city of Toronto hosted a virtual ceremony to honor the lives lost to COVID-19. The event featured 2,750 lit candles placed on the ice at Nathan Phillips Square to represent each life lost in the city. Toronto Mayor John Tory has declared March 21 as a day of remembrance for those lost to the pandemic.
VANCOUVER: The Vancouver Sun Run and its post-run celebration will take place virtually this year, rather than at its traditional home of B.C. Place. Canadian indie band Hey Ocean! will headline the post-run festivities, which will include a full lineup of artists. The event, which runs from April 18-30, is being hosted in partnership with Michelob ULTRA.
