Event platform Bizzabo has acquired x.ai, an artificial intelligence scheduling tool that generates compatible times to meet across time zones, sends follow-ups and reminders, manages cancellations and more. Bizzabo’s integration of x.ai’s scheduling engine will make it easy for event participants to schedule meetings, get smart recommendations and more.
Robert Lee, DMCP, is now vice president of global sales for Hosts Global. The 15-year industry veteran was the 2019-2020 president of the Association of Destination Management Executives International, where he helped implement a DMC-specific education program for use in universities worldwide.
SASKATOON: Prarieland Park plans to host a fully outdoor version of the Saskatoon Ex, taking place from Aug. 6-8 and Aug. 11-15. While the fair is still being planned, organizers will likely use all-Canadian talent and entertainment due to border restrictions, and there will be no indoor trade show or access to the main buildings. The Saskatoon Ex typically attracts over 20,000 attendees, generating more than $18 million in economic impact.
VICTORIA: The Victoria Marathon Society plans to host an in-person Royal Victoria Marathon this fall. The event, taking place Oct. 10, will feature an 8K and a half marathon; registration opens June 8. A full marathon is expected to return in 2022.
