NATIONAL: The 2021 PBR Canada Cup series, billed as the nation’s top bull-riding series, will take place from Oct. 1-2. It’s the sixth season of the cup series and will include six events happening in various cities across Alberta and Saskatchewan. For the first time, the PBR Canada National Finals will be held at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
EDMONTON: Live music is returning to Edmonton this summer with two concert series. Taking it to the Streets, a new event from the producers of the Edmonton Folk Festival, will begin on July 16 and will have at least 40 different musicians moving through various spots within the city. Meanwhile, the Together Again Outdoor Concert Series will take place on the racetrack at the Edmonton Exhibition Lands beginning in August.
MONTREAL: The Oasis Immersion exhibit, located inside the Palais des congrès de Montréal, has added new content that includes an immersive experience inspired by the documentary L'odyssée Pacifique and the book Empreintes. The venue will host a special press tour on June 15, where more new content will be revealed. The space has been open for three months, and new exhibits are being added regularly
TORONTO: The 33rd annual Beaches Jazz Festival is back this year as part of Toronto's drive-in concert series. From July 2-24, attendees will be entertained through live drag performances, live DJ and more. One ticket is required for each vehicle, and tickets are $40. There will also be a virtual concert series in the middle of the festival, where viewers can stream via YouTube or the event’s website.
VANDERHOOF, BRITISH COLUMBIA: The Vanderhoof International Airshow, which was supposed to occur Aug. 14, will be postponed until next summer. This is the second year the event has been canceled due to the pandemic. The B.C. government shared that fairs and festivals can begin operating again July 1, yet sponsors and volunteers for the airshow reportedly still have COVID-19 concerns.
