NATIONAL: Waterpower Canada announced that its annual Canadian Waterpower Week will be held virtually this year from Oct. 6-8. Over 400 members of the industry will be exploring the role and evolution of hydropower in regard to the move towards clean energy across the country.
CALGARY: The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo will happen in person this year. The expo is postponed until Sept. 10-12, and will be limiting attendance to 25,000 tickets. Tickets that have already been sold will be honored for the new date.
MONTREAL: The Marathon Beneva de Montreal’s annual race will be canceled this year. The event was planned for Sept. 24-26, but the province’s COVID-19 reopening plan prevents a race of this size from occurring. Runners can look forward to 2022 when the event is set to return from Sept. 23-25.
TORONTO: The Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) just announced its second run of the Lavazza Drive-In film festival, which will take place at Ontario Place from June 27 to July 17. Some highlights this year include a 10-year anniversary celebration; screenings in Toronto, Vaughan and Montreal; and premieres of North American and Canadian films.
VANCOUVER: The Vancouver Mural Festival will bring color to the city from Aug. 4-22. There will be more than 60 murals across 11 cities and over 40 live shows, talks and mural tours. Participants can see the shows and talks online as well as in person.
