CANADA: Juno Awards Plan Outdoor Ceremony, a Traveling Cider Festival, Montreal’s Festival of Projection Mapping and More

NATIONAL: Jägermeister and Post Malone recently teamed up to premiere a short film to help musical artists and venues impacted by COVID-19. Called Night Lights, the film serves as a tribute to local businesses and communities. It’s part of Jägermeister’s global #SaveTheNight campaign, which includes limited-edition bottles that change color while frozen; a portion of U.S. sales goes to the National Independent Venue Association, while a portion of global sales will go directly back to artists via Jägermeister’s Meister Fund.

EDMONTON: As COVID-19 cases rise throughout the province, St. Albert’s has canceled its Pride event, originally scheduled for Sept. 19 at Rotary Park. Over the coming days, organizers plan to support vendors who had planned to be in attendance via links on social media and the event's website. Organizers hope the event will make its return in spring 2022.

MONTREAL: The sixth edition of MAPP_MTL, a celebration of projection mapping and live digital art, will take place Sept. 23-25 at the Mile End skatepark. The festival will feature live interactive digital and projected murals artist Delphine Dussoubs, as well as minute-long creations by a variety of local and international creators. This will also be catering from nearby restaurant Nakamichi and beer from microbrewery Dieu du ciel.

TORONTO: The Juno Awards have released some details on the 2022 ceremony, a televised broadcast taking place May 15, 2022. Organizers of the event, billed as Canada’s biggest night in music, have booked the Budweiser Stage, a covered 16,000-seat outdoor space on the Ontario Place grounds. Juno Week, a series of events and performances leading up to the main broadcast, is slated to take place from May 9-15, 2022.

The Toronto Cider Festival is hitting the road this year, in an effort to connect fans with new cideries across Ontario. The Toronto Cider Festival: Road Trip Experience will include an authentic farm-to-table picnic in Caledon at Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, and a vineyard picnic experience at Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Small Talk Vineyard. The festival runs until Oct. 11, and each purchase contributes towards feeding 10 children in need through the TenFed Project.
