CANADA: The Country’s Tallest Christmas Tree, Vancouver’s Latest Immersive Art Exhibit, Tech Company Updates and More

GLOBAL: The Events Industry Council (EIC) has launched its new CMP Fellows Programme, an initiative designed to enhance the depth and global reach of the Certified Meeting Professional program. The initiative will recognize and reward CMPs who continue to make a significant investment towards the betterment of the event industry; fellowship is open to those with at least 10 years’ tenure as a CMP or Emeritus who can provide robust evidence of engagement and experience within the industry. A new class of fellows will be inducted each year, with benefits such as exclusive networking opportunities, peer-to-peer collaborations and more.

NATIONAL: Event management software company Aventri has announced a partnership with CLEAR, the secure identity company, to help attendees safely return to live events. The partnership will pair Aventri’s event registration and mobile app solutions with CLEAR’s Health Pass, allowing event organizers to easily connect a person's verified identity to COVID-19-related information such as test results and proof of vaccination.

Cloudbeds, a hospitality technology provider, has announced a $150 million Series D funding round from new and existing investors as it continues growing its team. The financing will help Cloudbeds further enhance its hospitality management software solutions, which include a fully integrated, cloud-based platform for lodging businesses of all types and sizes, including independent hotels, hostels, vacation rentals and hotel groups.

TORONTO: Canada’s tallest Christmas tree is returning to Toronto's Eaton Centre for the holidays on Nov. 18. The tree will be lit during a private media celebration, instead of the usual event that is open to the public, and it will feature a yet-to-be-named special guest. This year's tree stands at 108 feet tall. 

VANCOUVER: Newly opened immersive art exhibit Imagine Picasso will run through Jan. 8, 2022. The show features hundreds of images showcasing the work of Pablo Picasso at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The exhibit offers timed ticketing for a less crowded experience.
