The annual event, now in its seventh year, is a day of advocacy that shines a light on the positive impact that conferences, conventions and trade shows have on people, businesses and the economy. NATIONAL: McVeigh Global Meetings and Events (MGME) has recently acquired Canada-based PRIME Event Partners. The partnership will expand MGME's global presence to Toronto and Montreal. MGME specializes in corporate services including event production solutions and meeting management, while PRIME is a full-service event management company.
MONTREAL: The 17th edition of documentary conference Forum RIDM will take place Nov. 13-17 as a hybrid event. Highlights will include a talent lab presented by Netflix, a workshop series, a one-on-one pitch event, virtual roundtables and more.
TORONTO: Canada-based subscription club Gargoyle Wine Club has launched its first brick-and-mortar location, Praise Bottle Shop, close to Christie Pits Park. The store acts as a community hub, hosting wine-based private events where every bottle of wine purchased gives one person access to clean water via Water.org. The venue has a main bar with both bar and table seating, plus a speakeasy-style back room and a side patio.
VANCOUVER: Contact Music Festival plans to return to the Vancouver Convention Centre from Dec. 29-30, barring any COVID-19-related restrictions. The event will bring together artists like Excision, Loud Luxury and Madeon, and tickets start at $139.99 for a two-day pass.
