GLOBAL: The Events Industry Council (EIC) has launched its new CMP Fellows Programme, an initiative designed to enhance the depth and global reach of the Certified Meeting Professional program. The initiative will recognize and reward CMPs who continue to make a significant investment towards the betterment of the event industry; fellowship is open to those with at least 10 yearsโ tenure as a CMP or Emeritus who can provide robust evidence of engagement and experience within the industry. A new class of fellows will be inducted each year, with benefits such as exclusive networking opportunities, peer-to-peer collaborations and more.
The Meetings Mean Business Coalition's Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) is slated to take place on April 7, 2022. The annual event, now in its seventh year, is a day of advocacy that shines a light on the positive impact that conferences, conventions and trade shows have on people, businesses and the economy. The theme for GMID 2022 will be Meet Safe.
NATIONAL: Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), a global sales force dedicated to connecting luxury independent hotels with meeting professionals, has joined forces with wellness and real estate tech company Delos to bring the Delos Wellness Accreditation for Meetings and Events to market. The offering will provide meeting planners with the knowledge and resources needed to create healthier, more productive meeting environments.
TORONTO: Canada-based subscription club Gargoyle Wine Club has launched its first brick-and-mortar location, Praise Bottle Shop, close to Christie Pits Park. The store acts as a community hub, hosting wine-based private events where every bottle of wine purchased gives one person access to clean water via Water.org. The venue has a main bar with both bar and table seating, plus a speakeasy-style back room and a side patio.
VANCOUVER: The 2021 Circle Craft Christmas takes place Nov. 10-14 at the Vancouver Convention Center. Over 200 artisans from across the country are expected to participate, showcasing clothing, pottery, jewelry, metal and woodwork, glass blowing, candle-making and more. The show has been taking place for over 50 years.
