US: News From the American Music Awards, Philadelphia Flower Show, SF Sketchfest and More

CHICAGO: Central Park Bar is now open in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood. Owned and operated by Four Entertainment Group (4EG), the bar features a 3,500-square-foot outdoor “backyard bar,” which includes a fire pit, swings, picnic tables, a bumper pool and three TVs. Inside is an 80-year-old original wood bar with 20 seats.

Buffalo Creek Brewing in Long Grove is returning with its Alpine Biergarten concept from Nov. 26-28. The brewery is known for its handcrafted German-style beer and lively atmosphere, and it features multiple fire pits, patio and barrel table heat lamps, throws and apparel to stay warm, twinkle lighting, holiday decor, outdoor table service and over 2 acres of winter land to explore. 

LOS ANGELES: Cardi B will host at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Nov. 21 live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. MRC Live & Alternative and ABC have announced the first group of A-listers set to perform, including Bad Bunny, BTS, Megan Thee Stallion and Olivia Rodrigo.

PHILADELPHIA: The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) has announced that its 2022 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show will be held outdoors for the second time in show history. “In Full Bloom” will take place in South Philadelphia’s Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park (FDR Park) from June 11-19, 2022. Tickets sales will begin mid-December, with a variety of ticketing options and packages.

SAN FRANCISCO: SF Sketchfest returns to venues across San Francisco to celebrate 20 years from Jan. 7-23, 2022. The lineup will be announced on Nov. 19 and tickets go on sale Nov. 21. The festival will feature sketch, stand-up, alternative comedy, music, improv, films, cast reunions, tributes, live podcasts, storytelling, panels and more.
