NATIONAL: Riot Games has announced that the 2022 edition of the League of Legends World Championship will take place in New York, Toronto, Mexico City and San Francisco. The brand’s first-ever multicountry tour of its annual esports competition will be the first to take place in North America since 2016. The 2021 edition wrapped up earlier this month in ReykjavĂk, Iceland; the monthlong tournament featured no fans in attendance.
Event management software company Swoogo has launched a new in-platform attendee analytics feature called Swoogo Analytics. The tool, which builds on data provided by Google Analytics, allows event planners to track in-event attendee activity to better understand, segment and market to their audience, as well as create additional value for sponsors and other stakeholders.
TORONTO: Event agency The Concierge Club debuted the Polar Winter Festival on Nov. 25 at Bandshell Park, part of Exhibition Place. The event, which runs until Dec. 26, features 16 festive holiday zones featuring larger-than-life decorations, rides, games, food and a holiday market. An added bonus? Canada’s first Nobu hotel and restaurant are slated to open in 2022. Nobu Residences Toronto will include two 45-story towers filled with hotel suites, residences and retail space. Other highlights will include a Zen garden-inspired outdoor terrace, a fitness center and a two-story restaurant with a lounge, private dining rooms and its own terrace.
VANCOUVER: Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas experience kicked off Nov. 25 and runs through Jan. 3. The event features a light-filled walk around Blue Grouse Lake, along with open-air skating on the 8,000-square-foot Mountaintop Skating Pond. Other activities include breakfast with Santa and photos at Santa’s workshop, with donations benefiting BC Children’s Hospital.
