NATIONAL: Staples Canada will host its Future of Work Expo on Feb. 16. The free virtual event will share insights, trend predictions and product solutions to help inform the new world of work, with industry experts and thought leaders sharing  advice on topics like workplace design, tech solutions, collaboration and more.

Restaurants Canada has rescheduled its annual trade show, The RC Show 2022, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Organizers plan to host a hybrid edition—with a virtual experience powered by NexTech AR Solutions and an in-person experience at Toronto's Enercare Centre—from May 9-11.

CALGARY: Organizers of Chinook Blast have delayed the winter festival's start date from late January to Feb. 4, due to concerns about COVID-19. The announcement comes after the cancellation or postponement of several related events, including Calgary’s High Performance Rodeo and the BIG Winter Classic. Other events, however, are slated to go ahead, including the Block Heater music festival from Feb. 17-20.

TORONTO: Mass vaccination event “Vax the Northwest” will be held on Jan. 23 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Aviva Centre, the home of Tennis Canada and the National Bank Open. The event will focus on vaccinating people of all eligible ages from Northwest Toronto neighborhoods.

VANCOUVER: A new firm, Spencer Building Carrier Hotel (SBCH), announced plans to develop a 43,000-square-foot carrier hotel at the Spencer Building in downtown Vancouver. Construction is due to be completed in Spring 2023. Originally constructed around 1925, the Spencer building was the site of the Spencer’s Department Store and part of Simon Fraser University’s downtown campus.
