CALGARY: Jurassic Quest, a realistic traveling dinosaur expo, will be taking place at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park April 8-10. Tickets range from $22-$45, and the exhibit will feature several animatronic creatures, such as a 50-foot megalodon, plus a fossil dig. The exhibits were created in collaboration with leading paleontologists.
The Calgary international Beerfest, Canada’s largest beer festival, is returning this year May 6-7 at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park. The festival will feature more than 700 beers from over 200 breweries, plus robust programming such as the Brew Masters Seminar, food and beer pairings and more. Tickets range from $19.99-$49.99.
MONTREAL: Montreal’s Festival BD is returning to the city May 27-29 on rue Saint-Denis. The festival caters to graphic novel and comic fans alike. In partnership with the Société de développement commercial Rue Saint-Denis, there will be bilingual, comics-themed events for fans to meet their favorite characters and immerse themselves in their favorite fictional plots. More than 200 artists are expected to attend this year’s edition of the event.
TORONTO: Toronto’s magical castle Casa Loma has announced that it will be hosting High Tea services Feb. 19-21 in celebration of Family Day. Due to popular demand, services will also be held Feb. 26 and 27. There will be two seatings daily—11 a.m. and 1 p.m.—for guests of all ages to channel their inner monarch and enjoy a classic British-inspired high tea featuring international teas, themed alcoholic beverages and Casa Loma’s rendition of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Cake. Tickets are available on Open Table at $75 per person.
VANCOUVER: The Vancouver Mural Festival is now running through Feb. 27. The winter arts festival is transforming downtown Vancouver into an open-air gallery of art and live experiences designed to brighten the city and connect its residents following the pandemic. Programming includes augmented reality and light installations, live music, performances from CircusWest and more.
