NATIONAL: Empowered Women is a free, online event that will showcase impactful, female-identifying leaders, providing students an opportunity to connect and explore through informative and interactive sessions, panels and more on March 26. The event is being presented by World of Choices by Junior Achievement South Western Ontario and Junior Achievement Waterloo Region.
CALGARY: The District at Beltline’s Food Hall is opening to the public on March 3. Six chef-driven concepts will be unveiled: Takori by chef Duncan Ly; Greenfish by chef Darren MacLean and chef Duncan Ly; Oishidesu Ramen Shack by chef Arce Morales; Roy’s Korean Kitchen by chef Roy Oh; Shrub Bloom by chef Adam Ryan; and Modern Burger by Stephen Deere.
TORONTO: After two years of cancellations, Toronto’s Taste of the Danforth festival is expected to return in person the weekend of Aug. 5. Known as the city’s largest street festival, the event celebrates Mediterranean food and culture. Previous editions have drawn approximately 1.6 million attendees over three days.
Liberty Entertainment Group is launching a series of intimate, candlelit concerts at Casa Loma. Called "Candlelight Symphony at the Castle," the experience will bring guests through an 800-foot tunnel below Austin Terrace to the Carriage Room, where the Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra will perform live. The entertainment program kicks off March 10 and runs Thursday through Sunday evenings until April 3.
VANCOUVER: Sneaker Con Vancouver will feature some of the latest products from Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Yeezy and New Balance, as well as streetwear and collectibles from brands like Supreme and Be@rbrick. Attendees can also bring sneakers from their own personal collection to sell, show off or trade with others. The event will take place March 5 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
