Lorenz was a founding investing partner of rEvolution and, in his new position, plans to converge B2B and B2C event experiences as well as further bolster the agency’s presence as a global leader in sports marketing.
EDMONTON: Edmonton has announced that it will be hosting the 2023 Football Canada Cup in partnership with Football Alberta from July 9-17. The national championship began in 1995 and has since been a tournament for the nation’s best U18 men’s teams.The city also plans to host the IFAF World Junior Championship in 2024.
MONTREAL: On March 14, restaurants and bars across the Quebec province will be able to reopen their doors at full capacity—two years after premier François Legault declared the pandemic a public health emergency. Bans on karaoke and dancing will also be lifted, but mask mandates and vaccine passports will remain in effect until further notice.
Montreal’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is returning for a 2022 edition following two years of cancellations due to COVID-19. The Montreal United Irish Societies announced that the celebration will take place on March 20 as a scaled-down event due to a reduced time frame for preparation. Organizers are expecting 500 attendees in a slightly longer parade route—from Lambert-Closse Street to Union Street—to allow for ample spacing.
VANCOUVER: The first-ever Vancouver Cocktail Week (VCW), presented by The Alchemist Magazine, is taking place March 6-10 as a celebration of cocktails, food and reconnection following the pandemic. The five-day festival will feature 63 events—such as ticketed dinners and seminars—at 50 different locations. To kick off the week, the Fairmont Pacific Rim is hosting an opening brunch, and to end the festivities, there will be a “Fun City Gala” at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Tickets can be purchased on The Alchemist Magazine’s website.
