GLOBAL: The Ageas Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket and the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl hotel, has partnered with Halo Solutions to streamline event safety and security at the ground. With a flexible capacity of up to 25,000, the ground regularly hosts international matches as well as local home games, and it is a major outdoor concert location with a capacity of 35,000. Halo streamlines event management from the control room to the staff on the ground, connecting multiple agencies, venue functions and previously disconnected teams. Delivery teams can log and record incidents using Halo in real-time with user-friendly mobile and desktop applications, getting the full picture to the right people.
LAS VEGAS: Station Casinos recently broke ground on the Durango Casino and Resort, which is slated to open in late 2023. The project will include 83,000 square feet of casino space including indoor and outdoor socializing spaces, 20,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, four signature food and beverage outlets and more.
MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove are welcoming back Derek Flint with the announcement of his recent appointment to market general manager. Flint has 35 years of luxury hospitality experience and will continue to elevate the hotel’s guest experience. In addition, these properties, as well as the Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderale, have promoted Tatiana Lora to area director of marketing. Lora will continue her 12-year tenure with these three hotels in her new role.
NEW ORLEANS: Tales of the Cocktail Foundation announced the addition of four new board members to its board of directors: John Gakuru, Tess Posthumus, Perry Sholes and Claire Warner. The board members will serve to promote and implement the foundation’s mission to educate, advance and support the global cocktail community, while also serving as global ambassadors for the organization. The 20th-anniversary Tales of the Cocktail conference will return for an in-person celebration in New Orleans from July 25-29.
PHOENIX/SCOTTSDALE: On March 9, Sheraton Phoenix Downtown unveiled Carcara restaurant as one of the final phases of a property-wide renovation under the Sheraton brand’s new vision. Led by executive chef Chaz Frankenfield and influenced by the rich traditions of the Southwest, Carcara aims to be a celebration of the local Phoenix community’s heritage and history, showcasing locally sourced ingredients in Sonoran-inspired dishes and hand-crafted cocktails. Outside, the perimeter of the patio is lined with Cara Cara orange trees, the inspiration and namesake for the restaurant.
