CANADA: Tennis Canada's 2022 Schedule, Marriott International's $45 Million Development, a Floral Pop-Up to Honor Trailblazing Women and More

NATIONAL: Tennis Canada has released its 2022 national event calendar. Over 70 tournaments are slated to take place from March 22 to Nov. 14, with highlights including the Saskatoon Challenger from July 17-24, the Winnipeg National Bank Challenger from July 24-31, the Greystone Challenger from Oct. 9-16 and more.

MONTREAL: The ninth edition of Festival de la Voix takes place March 19 to April 10 at various venues in the West Island and Westmount. The festival aims to celebrate the power of the human voice and will include seven concerts showcasing a mix of styles. A highlight will be Concert Vox Astern on April 9, which will celebrate Montreal’s first culturally diverse symphony orchestra, Ensemble Obiora.

QUEBEC: The Marriott International chain has signed off on Espace Montmorency, a $45 million luxury hotel that will offer a selection of offices, cafes, restaurants and green spaces, plus 717 residential units—all connected to Montreal’s Montmorency metro station. The 10-floor hotel will be located in Tower III of Espace Montmorency in the heart of Laval, have 188 guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant, lounge bar, business center, reception hall and terrace overlooking the city.

TORONTO: Toronto Mayor John Tory announced on March 4 that all notable in-person, public events, parades and festivals are allowed to happen as usual this year following a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. Torontonians can expect to look forward to the St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 20, plus Pride, the Luminato Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival and more.

VANCOUVER: Vancouver Fleur de Villes is hosting an event series titled FEMMES, a free pop-up designed to celebrate influential women. A number of mannequins covered in flowers and inspired by trailblazing women will blossom throughout the city from June 3-12. QR codes will link to biographies of each of the women, which will include the likes of Rihanna, Oprah Winfrey and Izumo no Okuni. Vancouver is the sixth stop in the series. Following the 10-day event, FEMMES will move to Edinburgh, Sydney and Johannesburg.
