CANADA: Ukrainian Day at Casa Loma, an EDM Festival in Montreal, Thinkingbox’s New Exec and More

GLOBAL: RCP London Events, which hosts over 570 events per year at its London event venue and digitally across its virtual event platform, has achieved BVA BDRC VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation. It is the only accreditation program determined entirely by the voice of the customer and based on the meeting experience. The VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation is given to those properties recording a Net Promoter Score of 70 or higher from all event host responses in a 12-month period.

MONTREAL: Ă®LESONIQ presented by Bell has quickly become an event destination for electronic music lovers around the world. From Aug. 5-7, Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau will be home to Canada’s most influential dance event, with sets from some of the most celebrated artists on the planet. Ă®LESONIQ en ville will kick off the festivities downtown on Aug. 4. 

TORONTO: Art Battle Toronto will take place at the Great Hall on March 29, with tickets starting at $15. The unique event invites six artists at a time to step up to easels and race to produce the best painting in a set amount of time as the crowd watches and cheers them on. Art Battle was founded in 2001 in New York, and the Canadian edition started in 2009. 

Liberty Entertainment Group named March 27 as Ukrainian Day at Toronto's famed destination and venue Casa Loma. Created as a day in support of the #StandwithUkraine fundraising efforts, the local community of all ages was invited to join federal, provincial and municipal dignitaries, VIPs and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress—Toronto Branch for a day of cultural activities and performances, craft vendors and information sessions for families of refugees, with speaking remarks from special guests and dignitaries. All proceeds from admission were donated to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal established by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the Canada-Ukraine Foundation.

VANCOUVER: Thinkingbox has appointed Dan Culic to the role of director of client services, with a focus on strengthening client relationships. Tasked with overseeing Thinkingbox’s portfolio of clients out of the Vancouver office, Culic plans to bolster the output of current clients and consistently onboard new brands—both national and international—through the agency’s lens of craft and curiosity.
