CLEVELAND: Hilton Cleveland Downtown has announced Tammy LeBlanc as general manager of the 600-room hotel. In the position, LeBlanc will oversee all aspects of the property, including hotel management, guest experience and day-to-day operations. The hospitality veteran joined the Hilton brand in 2005 as director of business development at Hilton Montreal Airport, and most recently served as the general manager at the Hilton Barbados Resort.
LAS VEGAS: MGM Resorts has revealed new acquisitions for its public fine art collection as it looks to focus its offerings on diversity, equity and inclusion. The talents showcased in the most recent acquisition include Rashid Johnson, Sanford Biggers, Derrick Adams, Ghada Amer and Jonathan Lyndon Chase, among others. Their artwork will now be displayed throughout MGM Resorts' properties and alongside existing pieces in an effort to provide an additional platform for artists of color, women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to showcase their portfolios.
LINCOLNSHIRE, ILLINOIS: The Marriott Theatre is debuting The Sound of Music on April 20 at 7:30 p.m., and the show will run through June 5. Directed by Nick Bowling, the musical will feature the Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winning score by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Tickets are $55 for performances Wednesday to Friday or $60 from Saturday to Sunday, and can be purchased by calling The Marriott Theatre Box Office, or online through Ticketmaster.
NEW YORK: EverWalk, a free walking club, is taking New York City by storm on April 2 with a three-mile Cherry Tree Walk through Central Park. Participants are asked to enter the park on the 90th Street and Fifth Avenue entrance to meet in front of the John Purroy Mitchel statue at 9:55 a.m. To join the club, walkers must be vaccinated and able to maintain a 20-minute-mile pace in order to complete three miles within 90 minutes.
WASHINGTON, DC: The Washington Ballet will be performing Giselle at the Warner Theatre April 28-May 1. The performances—and choreography by Julie Kent and Victor Barbee—will portray the ultimate tale of tragedy, betrayal and true love as it follows a peasant girl, Giselle, who falls in love with a nobleman. Tickets range from $56-$127 and are on sale now on the Washington Ballet’s website.
