US: An NFT Ticketing Platform, Chicago’s Alcohol-Free Bottle Shop, the 66th Viennese Opera Ball and More

GLOBAL: SquadUp—the event ticketing partner for The James Beard Foundation, Williams-Sonoma, the NYC and South Beach Food and Wine Festivals, and more—has announced an investment in SideChain to create an NFT ticketing platform. The new tool, NFT.SQUADUP, will feature customizable technology to allow event professionals around the world to have complete control over their event’s ticketing experience, from branding and social media integration to mobile registration and on-site operations.

CHICAGO: Prāzbar, the first retailer in the Windy City to be stocked entirely with alcohol-free spirits, is hosting a Wine Bar event on May 1 for patrons to explore alcohol-removed and non-alcoholic wines, as well as a Tiki Bar event on June 5, where guests are encouraged to mingle while sipping on virgin rum cocktails. Located in Bronzeville, Prāzbar serves up liquor-like mixed drinks by employing a selection of herbs, spices and other botanicals. Guests can RSVP to the bottle shop’s upcoming events on its website.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The World Polo League Beach Polo Cup is taking place this year on the sands of South Beach at Collins Park between 21st and 22nd Streets from April 29-May 1. The three-day event—the world’s largest beach polo tournament—will feature the sport’s top players competing in high-stakes, high-goal polo matches alongside offsite polo-related fashion and luxury events and merchandise in the Retail Village. Tickets start at $80 and are available for purchase on Miami Polo Cup’s website.

NEW YORK: KIND Snacks teamed up with local experiential and event production shop Tenure for a pop-up activation over the course of the weekend. On April 1 and 2, in the wake of the ongoing crisis in Europe, the brand constructed a 30-foot wall in Flatiron Plaza at 23rd street to inspire KINDness. One side of the wall displayed a 270-square-foot bed of sunflowers while the other side housed a collection of kind messages from New Yorkers. For each note left on the wall, KIND made a donation to World Central Kitchen.

The 66th Viennese Opera Ball, “A Night of Love,” is being held on May 13 at Cipriani 42nd Street. This year, the annual invite-only charity gala will benefit the music therapy program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with support from Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. White tie and long ball gown attire is required, and throughout the evening, there will be live and silent auctions, music by the Viennese Opera Ball Orchestra and appearances by the guests of honor.
