CANADA: The First-Ever Filipino Restaurant Month, an Alice in Wonderland-themed Scavenger Hunt Across Vancouver and More

GLOBAL: SquadUp—the event ticketing partner for The James Beard Foundation, Williams-Sonoma, the NYC and South Beach Food and Wine Festivals, and more—has announced an investment in SideChain to create an NFT ticketing platform. The new tool, NFT.SQUADUP, will feature customizable technology to allow event professionals around the world to have complete control over their event’s ticketing experience, from branding and social media integration to mobile registration and on-site operations.

CALGARY: For the month of April, Calgary is hosting its first-ever Filipino Restaurant month, presented by the Philippine Department of Tourism and the Calgary Philippine Consulate General. Eight restaurants across the city will be offering special dishes, prix-fixe menus and opportunities to enter raffles for prizes in honor of the event, which celebrates traditional Filipino flavors and unique ingredients. Participating restaurants include Amihan Grill + Bakeshop, Fuji Ramen and Sushi, Pacific Hut, Chopstix and more.

MONTREAL: Montreal is set to host the Olympic and Paralympic trials at Olympic Park in Montreal from May 14-19, 2024. Winning competitors will go on to compete at the Paris Games, which are scheduled for July 26-Aug. 11, 2024. Swimming Canada, the country’s governing body for competitive swimming, made the announcement at the unveiling of its 2023 and 2024 national event schedule.

TORONTO: 10tation Event Catering is offering a four-person Easter menu for families looking to take a break from the kitchen. Now available for preorder for April 16 or 17, the delivery comes with Easter brioche bread and a spring burrata salad to start, a choice of braised Ontario lamb shank, maple-glazed ham or short ribs as a main (with sides of smashed cauliflower, broccolini and potatoes), plus a dacquoise cake and chocolate petit four for dessert. The $299 meal serves four.

VANCOUVER: CluedUpp Games, an independent game studio notorious for transforming city streets into immersive outdoor adventures, is sending Vancouverites on a mission to rescue Alice in Wonderland on Aug. 13. In this escape room-style game, participants will be tasked with solving clues and overcoming challenges before time runs out. One team ticket, which allows for up to six players, is available on CluedUpp’s website for $80. Players under 16 can participate for free, and teams are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Alice in Wonderland characters.
