CANADA: Easter Afternoon Tea at the Castle, Eataly’s All-Inclusive Feast, TED Conferences Returns to Vancouver and More

BANFF: The Fairmont Banff Springs is hosting an Easter-themed “Afternoon Tea at the Castle” April 15-17 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for $90 per guest. Menu highlights include an assortment of Victorian scones with house-made preserves, dainty finger sandwiches, Champagne and more. The luxury hotel is also offering Easter dinner to-go, an egg race, cookie decorating and crafting sessions, as well as a campfire under the night sky in honor of the holiday.

MONTREAL: The Montreal Medieval Fair is taking place May 13-15 at Centre Pierre-Charbonneau. The indoor-outdoor fair has a non-stop itinerary filled with music, dancing, fire spitters, acrobats and choreographed fights that will transport guests back to the medieval era. Inside, more than 75 exhibitors and vendors will be selling leather goods, jewelry and accessories reminiscent of the Gothic times. Tickets start at $18.71 for a one-day pass.

TORONTO: Eataly Toronto is hosting its first-ever all-inclusive feast at its location in Manulife Centre on May 13. Dubbed “SpringFest 2022: Best of Eataly Edition,” the Italian marketplace’s chefs will be serving up curated, classically Italian menus featuring pizza, pastas, sweet Italian desserts and more—all paired with Italian wines and beers courtesy of craft brewery Birrotecha by Indie Alehouse. There will also be over 15 tasting stations, a live band and pasta-making demonstrations in Eataly’s on-site cooking school. Tickets are available on Eataly’s website and allow for guests to enjoy as much food, drink and entertainment as they desire.

VANCOUVER: TED Conferences, the organization known for its TED Talks and TEDx events, has based its main annual event in Vancouver since 2014. After two years of COVID-induced cancellations and virtual renditions, the high-profile conference returned to the Canadian city on April 10 as one of the first meetings to make a full comeback at the Vancouver Convention Centre. TED2022 will see 1,700 attendees over the course of the five-day event, which is filled with stage programming, simulcast spaces, discovery sessions, dinners, parties and online social networking. Top speakers include Bill Gates, who will talk on the topic of “the next pandemic,” climate advocate Al Gore and famed entrepreneur Elon Musk.

The GPO Bar + Kitchen in Gastown is hosting two Easter Sunday Drag Brunches at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on April 17. The show will feature the city’s most talented drag queens, including Carmen Dior as the host, DiamontĂ©, Rogue and The Girlfriend Experience. Tickets for guests aged 19 and over are $40 and include entertainment, one brunch item, gratuity and a Phillips Brewing Beermosa. Tables are available for parties up to eight.
