BOSTON: Boston Calling Music Festival announced that it will make its return on Memorial Day Weekend with an extensive food and drink lineup. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to taste the culinary diversity of New England with new vendors, including Greek restaurant GreCo, Mamaleh’s, a Jewish deli, and Suasday Sandwich Co., plus fan favorites like Tasty Burger, Roxy's Grilled Cheese and Chicken and Rice Guys. The music festival most recently announced three new music performances to its 2022 lineup, with Grammy-nominated sister pop trio HAIM, violinist-vocalist Sudan Archives and Celisse. Tickets start at $144.99 for a one-day pass, $259.99 for a two-day pass and $369.99 for a three-day pass.
CENTREVILLE, VA.: Bull Run Special Events Center is hosting Jurassic Encounter, taking place May 20-30. The event will transform the venue into a walk-through experience featuring more than 50 animatronic and static, life-like dinosaurs designed to entertain and educate. The family-friendly event will also offer activities such as "Digging for Bones," an outdoor space with more tented games, the Dino Village and more. Tickets are available for $25.
CHICAGO: Choose Chicago's East Coast convention sales department has welcomed Shavonne Harding as a national sales manager. In her new position, Harding will oversee all sales, marketing and event management based out of Washington, D.C. Harding began her destination marketing career in 2014 and most recently served as the regional director of sales for Visit Baltimore for the past four years.
Merchandise mart One Of A Kind Show+Sale Chicago will host its sixth annual spring show April 29-May 1. The three-day shopping experience will bring together 300 independent artists, designers and makers across 20 categories—including jewelry, ceramics, photography, fashion and glass—to The Mart in Downtown Chicago for a weekend of shopping and supporting the arts while enjoying food and drinks, live music, hands-on workshops and more. The show will run from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Fri.-Sat., and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
NEW YORK: The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Korean Government are presenting Korea: Cubically Imagined, May 2-14 at 549 W. 28th Street in New York City. The free exhibition features 15 installations, including performances by BTS, the film set of Academy award-winning film Parasite and an AR installation by digital design studio Design Silverfish, in efforts to transcend boundaries between past and future. After its New York iteration, the exhibition will travel to Washington, D.C. May 27-June 9.
