CANADA: Walmart Canada's New Partnership, the Toronto International Film Festival Announces 2022 Venues and More

NATIONAL: Stingray, a leading music, media and technology company, announced that Walmart Canada has joined the Stingray Retail Media Network, making the multimedia brand responsible for exclusive sales representation of all in-store digital audio advertising within the national Walmart Canada retail footprint. In the new partnership, Stingray aims to allow brands to reach Walmart's customers through relevant audio messages that are digitally ad-served via Stingray's streaming media technology.

TORONTO: Second Harvest has tapped local PR firm rock-it promotions as Toronto Taste's event partner, meaning the firm will handle all strategic and public relations duties, social media support and talent integration for the 30-year anniversary of the premiere culinary event. This year, Toronto Taste takes place on June 12 at the historic Evergreen Brick Works, bringing together 50 culinary and cocktail experts to wow 1,600 attendees with outstanding, over-the-top food and drink. The event was designed to raise funds and awareness for Second Harvest, Canada's largest food rescue organization and global thought leader on perishable food redistribution.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will return to an in-person format for its 47th edition and has announced its official screening venues, which include TIFF Bell Lightbox, Roy Thomson Hall, the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre, Scotiabank Theatre Toronto and the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Kicking off on Sept. 8, the 11-day festival will consist of international and Canadian cinema, press and industry screenings, special events and red carpets featuring some of the biggest names in film. The TIFF Tribute Awards gala fundraiser will take place on Sept. 11 at Fairmont Royal York.  

The Redpath Waterfront Festival (RWF) announced that it will return to a fully in-person festival after two years. This festival will be held on Sept. 17-18, dubbed "Water Weekend," at the HTO Park and Sugar Beach. Designed to celebrate the last weekend of summer, programming will include immersive on-land and on-water activities from Parks Canada, the Royal Canadian Navy and Theodore TOO Tugboat. Attendees will also be able to enjoy cultural activities, on-site food trucks, a lineup of live entertainment and more, which will be announced in the coming months.

VANCOUVER: Social media agency AntiSocial Solutions has acquired Vancouver-based studio Chen Productions, with founder Matthew Chen joining the team as associate director of content. With the acquisition, AntiSocial aims to level up their content production and strengthen their live-action service offering. In his new role, Chen will focus on overall department development and work day-to-day with clients, including the likes of Oakwyn Realty, Revanesse and FitXR.
